Twin Cooling System
What is Twin Cooling System?
SAMSUNG's Twin Cooling System controls and generates cooling air for the refrigerator and freezer separately, with two independent evaporators and precise electronic control, thus maintaining each compartment at their optimal cooling conditions.
Why Twin Cooling System?
For best storage of your foods, each refrigerator and freezer compartment requires different conditions such as humidity, temperature and storage time. For example, the ideal temperature for the freezer is -18C, and for the refrigerator is 3C (a difference of 21C). Also, a high humidity level in the refrigerator compartment is a critical condition for optimal storage of your fruits and vegetables, while too much humidity can have harsh effects on the performance of the freezer compartment. In order to satisfy such wide ranging conditions, SAMSUNG electronics has developed the Twin Cooling System.
Maintaining optimum Humidity
Food that loses more than 20% of its moisture is deemed not fresh und unhealthy to eat. Because single evaporator refrigerators use dehumidified air from the freezer compartment to cool the refrigerator compartment, loss of moisture in food is hastened.
With the Twin Cooling System, cool air in the refrigerator compartment does not travel to the freezer compartment, preventing food from drying out due to loss of humidity.
Food in the refrigerator is preserved for a longer period of time.
No mixing of odours between compartments
The cool air does not travel across the freezer and refrigerator compartments. Therefore there is no unpleasant mixing odours.
Quiet Operation
SAMSUNG refrigerators reduced the noise level by using a compressor designed for a low noise and variable motor speed.
Efficient use of energy
The Twin Cooling System provides adequate amount of cold air in each compartment thanks to exclusive evaporators and precise electronic control.
Ideal temperature and speedy cooling
With two fans and two evaporators, the Twin Cooling System can maintain the ideal temperature for each compartment, and is also suitable for speedy cooling.
Conventional Cooling System
A conventional refrigerator with a single cooler (evaporator) cannot satisfy the individual requirement of the two different compartments, because it uses the same cold air to lower the temperature in both the refrigerator and freezer compartments. This results in:
inefficient temperature control
loss of humidity
mixing odours
multi-flow cooling
Cool air flows out through multiple outlets at every shelf level. This provides even cooling throughout the refrigerator, and quickly returns temperatures to its optimal state after the door has been opened, maintaining the ideal temperature to keep your food fresh longer.
