Incorporating the latest SATA Multilane connector, the Multilane 4X PCI-X Controller for Mac not only provides the fast SATA performance but also supports connecting up to 4 SATA ports externally via a single Infiniband cable. Drives connected to this controller can be easily configured as 4 individual ports with no RAID or with RAID 0 or RAID 1 using the Mac OS Disk Utility.
With the Multilane 4x PCI-X Controller for Mac, an external Disk Array storage system such as the Addonics Storage Tower or Mini Storage Tower can now be connected to a system with a reliable and clean cable management system.
Product Feature
- 4X Multilane connector with thumb screw for secure connection. Connect up to 4 external SATA devices to system via 1 Infiniband cable
- Maximum data transfer up to 3 Gbits/sec per port on PCI-X slot
- SATAI and SATA II compliant
- Use as a non-RAID or RAID controller. Create RAID 0 or 1 using the Mac OS Disk Utility.
- Fits standard height or low profile PC
- Silicon Image chip set SiI 3124
- Hot swap support - drive can be removed and added without system shut down or restart*
- Backwards compatible to PCI slot
- Port Multiplier compatible
- Compatible with Mac OS X 10.4.x using Power G4 & G5, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server
*Hot swapping hard drive has been tested on Windows OS only. When drives are configured as RAID 0 and certain RAID combination, the removal of the hard drive will result in breaking the RAID set and result in data loss.
