The NH-D9L chromax.black is is an all-black version of Noctuas award-winningNH-D9Lcompact dual tower CPU cooler that has been designed to provide excellent quiet cooling performance at a height of only 110mm. Its comparably low profile (15mm lower than classic 9cm tower coolers such as theNH-U9S) doesn't only guarantee full 3U compliance but also makes the NH-D9L ideal for compact HTPC and Small Form Factor cases that have airflow paths parallel to the mainboard. Thanks to its 95x95mm footprint, the NH-D9L clears the RAM and PCIe slots on all Intel based and most AMD based ITX mainboards. The includedNF-A9premium fan supports automatic speed control via PWM for outstanding quietness of operation and a second, optional NF-A9 fan can be added for further improved performance in dual fan mode. The NH-D9L chromax.black includes Noctuas offset mounting bars for AM5 that make it possible to install the cooler shifted towards the south side of the socket by 7mm, thereby achieving better contact quality right above the CCD(s). This improved contact exactly at the processors hotspot can significantly reduce CPU temperatures with typical improvements in the range of 1-3C.
Compatibility with past and future sockets

Compatibility with past and future sockets

Thanks to Noctuas SecuFirm ecosystem, the NH-D9L chromax.black can be made compatible with the older LGA2066, LGA2011, LGA1366 and LGA775 sockets using the optional NM-i20xx and NM-I3 mounting kits, which are provided free of charge on request. If technically possible, Noctua will also provide upgrade kits for future sockets, which makes the NH-D9L a safe long-term investment.

**Depending on the orientation of the cooler, the optional second fan will sit above the RAM or above motherboard heatsinks, which will usually increase the total height of the cooler beyond 110mm. Please verify that your chassis offers sufficient clearance before adding a second fan!
