What are Cheap Solid State Drives?
Solid State Drives (SSDs) are the computer storages that reside inside your modern laptops. These drives are also known as Solid State Disks or Electronic Disks even though they really don't come in the form of "disks". As opposed to the traditional hard drives that dinosaur PCs and laptops once have, these SSDs are actually made up of semiconductors and chips. Think of the flash memory that you plug into your USB port. That is similar to these SSDs, the only difference are SSDs have bigger capacities and are bigger to fit into the hard drive compartment of notebooks and laptops.
If you have come to see an SSD up close, you'll still notice that it's physically similar to the traditional magnetic discs. That's because they still need to conform to the 1.8, 2.5 or 3.5-inch hard drive standard in order to fit into the compartments.
