iSCSI Storage Rack Configuration Examples
The Addonics Storage Rack is a 4U rack mount storage chassis designed to fit onto industrial standard computer rack. Designed to provide tremendous configuration flexibility, the Storage Rack is an ideal platform for creating a custom storage solution with multi-terabytes capability for video storage or editing, data archiving, uninterruptible storage, storage farm or any application that requires high performance or high storage capacity or both. Unlike many of the expensive proprietary storage solution in the market, the Storage Rack offer similar performance and capability at much lower cost per GB storage. In addition, the the Storage Rack can also be easily reconfigured, modified or upgraded at any time to meet your new application need without investing into new storage devices or new storage box. The Storage Rack has eight 5.25" drive bays available after installation of the iSCSI Subsystem, allowing for a maximum of thirteen 3.5" SATA drives or thirty-two 2.5" SATA drives.
External Expansion Capability
For further hard drive expansion, three SCSI-1 (Centronics 50-pin) punchouts are available for mounting the 4 eSATA ports bracket (AD4ESASB), which allows one or more external drive enclosures to be attached onto one of the SATA ports on the iSCSI Subsystem. For instance, a Storage Tower with Hardware Port Multiplier installed with all of the drives configured as a single RAID volume can be attached onto one of the remaining SATA ports, easily upgrading the iSCSI Subsystem with the capacity of an additional five SATA hard drives.

System Requirements
- A server or workstation with a NIC (Network Interface Controller) or iSCSI HBA (Host Bus Adapter).
- CAT 5, CAT 5e, or CAT 6 network cables for web GUI IP port and iSCSI data ports. We recommend CAT 6 cables for best performance.
- Management (web GUI IP port) and iSCSI data ports network information. When using static IP, please prepare static IP addresses, subnet mask, and default gateway.
- Ethernet switch. (Gigabit LAN switches are recommended for the best performance)
