The Storage Tower III features three standard 5 1/4" drive bays and an integrated power supply in a compact stylish chassis. Similar to other Storage Towers in this family, the back panel on the ST III can accommodate a variety of Port Multipliers (PM) and connectors to meet a wide range of applications. The small foot print, silent operation and large storage capability make this Storage Tower III an ideal solution for wide variety of storage applications in small businesses and homes.
When a Disk Array 5SA is installed into the Storage Tower III , as many as five 3.5" SATA hard drives can be added into this compact chassis. The back panel also can be configured with multiple eSATA connectors, a regular Hardware PM or the SATA Multilane connector to create a high performance external storage system or a terabyte storage farm. By integrating with a Port Multiplier, all the drives inside the Storage Tower III can be instantly turned into a RAID set for redundancy backups or high performance applications. Depending on the type of the PM installed, the entire RAID set can be connected to any computer via any eSATA port or USB 3.0/2.0 port.

* For eSATA connection, hot swap feature depends on the controller. All Addonics SATA controllers support the hot swap feature. The Storage Tower III can be powered down and restarted to swap out hard drive without rebooting the system.
Independent drive configuration is only supported with PM compatible controllers.
