ADMS25IDE
2.5" IDE mSATA Flash drive
Model: ADMS25IDE
Overview
This Addonics 2.5" IDE mSATA Flash drive turns a regular mSATA SSD into a 2,5" IDE SSD. The drive frame and the connector mimic the exact size and connector location of a 2.5" IDE hard drive. So once the mSATA SSD is mounted inside this 2.5" IDE mSATA Flash drive, it can be used just like a standard 7 mm 2.5" IDE hard drive to direct replace the 2.5" hard drive in Notebook or any computing equipment. With the addition of an optional 2.5" - 3.5" IDE connector converter, the 2.5" IDE mSATA Flash drive can be connected to standard 40-pin IDE port commonly found on legacy Desktop system. The 2.5" IDE mSATA Flash drive is a simple economical solution to replace a mechanical hard drive with a low power shock resistant Solid State Drive.
Illustration of using the 2.5" IDE mSATA Flash drive to replace the IDE hard drive in a legacy IBM Thinkpad Notebook
mSATA SSD installation illustration
1. Insert the connector end of the mSATA SSD into the mSATA connector on the adapter at a 30 angle
2. Push down the opposite end of the mSATA SSD till it is locked own by the hold down clip
Completed assembly has the same mechanical dimension of a 7 mm 2.5" SSD
Replace the 2.5" hdd on the Thinkpad drive tray with the 2.5" IDE mSATA Flash drive
Note: mSATA SSD in the diagram is for illustration purpose and is not part of the 2.5" IDE mSATA Flash drive product
Using the 2.5" IDE mSATA Flash drive as a 3.5" IDE hard drive
