Z6302A
Z6302A Raspberry Pi 2 - Model B Board
Overview
The original and the best has had an upgrade. The Raspberry Pi 2 Model B computer boasts the same footprint and feature-set as its predessor. But now runs an ARM Cortex A7 CPU any 1GB of SDRAM which makes it 6 x faster. Includes USB, Ethernet & HDMI connections. Uses a micro SD card as its data storage device and has a GPIO (general purpose input, output) interface. Very easy to set up and get designing!
This new model is backwards compatible. So you can still run codes that were written for the original.
Compared to the Model B it has:
GPIO. The GPIO header has grown to 40 pins, while retaining the same pinout for the first 26 pins as the Model B.
USB. We now have 4 USB 2.0 ports, compared to 2 on the Model B, and better hotplug and overcurrent behaviour.
Micro SD. The old friction-fit SD card socket has been replaced with a much nicer push-push micro SD version.
Lower power consumption. By replacing linear regulators with switching ones weve reduced power consumption by between 0.5W and 1W.
Stereo audio. The audio circuit incorporates a dedicated low-noise power supply.
Neater form factor. Weve aligned the USB connectors with the board edge, moved composite video onto the 3.5mm jack, and added four squarely-placed mounting holes.
We recommend the Model 2B for use in schools: it offers more flexibility for learners than the leaner Model A, which is more useful for embedded projects and projects which require very low power, and has more USB ports than the Model B.
About the Raspberry Pi Model B
The RASPBERRY-Pi MOD2B-1GB is a credit card sized computer that plugs into your TV and a keyboard, its like a little PC which can be used for many of the things that your desktop PC does, like spreadsheets, word processing and games. It also plays high definition video. The design is based around a Broadcom BCM2836 SoC, which includes an ARM A7 Cortex 900MHz processor, VideoCore IV GPU, and 1Gbyte of RAM. The design does not include a built in hard disk or solid state drive, instead relying on a microSD card for booting and long term storage. This board is intended to run Linux kernel based operating systems.
